Hi all, what is the difference between Statsforecast and MLforecast?

Hello! Statsforecast focuses on statistical models for forecasting (exponential smoothing, ARIMA, TBATS, etc.) MLForecast focuses on machine learning models for forecasting (LightGBM, or any model for sklearn). I hope this helps!

It always depends on the situation, but ML and DL have been shown to produce really good forecasts on large datasets. Take the M5 competition for example, where the best performing models were LightGBM and combinations of LighGBM and N-BEATS (read more here, section 4.2). Still, it always depends on your dataset and your needs, so make sure to try both 🙂
